Many claim that they do not need to read the New Covenant because they already have the Torah.  However, the "New Covenant" or the "New Testament" of Jeremiah 31 is one of the highest picks of the Scriptures, one of the profoundest and most moving passages in the entire Bible, the climax of Biblical Judaism... and in fact, it is from this passage in Jeremiah that the "New Testament" gets its name!

It is unique in that it contains the only occurrence in the Hebrew Bible of the Hebrew phrase "Brit Khadashah" or "Bris Chadosha," which means "New Covenant" or "New Testament"... this sentence is what ostensibly legitimized the text and the concepts of the New Testament, the essence of Christianity.

This New Covenant was also prophesied by Ezekiel, Isaiah and other prophets, mentioning only "covenant", but with similar facts, emphasizing its "eternal, everlasting and spiritual aspect", in contrast of the Moses Covenant which accentuates its "temporal, earthly and material feature".  This phrase, "new covenant", does not occur again in the Bible until the night of the last Passover Seder (Luke 22:20...  Mat.26:28, Mk.14:24, 1Cor 11:25).
